The scope of the meeting was to bring together scientists involved in the study of HOX and (physically or functionally) associated proteins to discuss in parallel aspects of their role and molecular mechanisms in embryonic development and in leukemias. These two fields have developed independently with very few direct interconnections but it has now become clear that molecules like HOX, PBX and PREP-MEIS play major roles in both.
