AI4LIFE - AI methods to facilitate microscopy image analysis
The main objective of the project AI4LIFE is to catalyze the development of novel AI-based approaches to pressing image analysis problems in the life sciences.
The student we are looking for will contribute to several computational tasks in the fields of image restoration, segmentation, and registration -- three types of analyses that are key for many projects in the life-sciences, and all too often the reason for slowed scientific progress.
More generally, the Jug Lab is working on effective and easy-to-use methods for microscopy image analysis, and we would be delighted to hire a new lab member to join our collaborative team who is motivated to innovate, with a keen interest in computer vision, machine learning, and developing useful software solutions. Experience with microscopy would be a plus, but can also be learned 'on the job'.
