Modelling shared decision making in health care
Evidences regarding the effectiveness of decision aids on supporting Shared Decision Making are inconsistent. A possible explanation is that they are not able to really personalize the presentation of options by highlighting the features congruent with patients’ values, beliefs and needs.
In recent years we have witnessed a real revolution, with the spread of new technologies in daily clinical practice. The aim of the PhD project will be to develop new approaches, models and implementation strategies to improve shared decision making starting from the integration of different data (medical, biological, psychological and social).
The candidate will be required to apply knowledge and expertise from psychological, cognitive and social domains to clinical care, using quantitative and qualitative methodology.
