Under the European Regulation n. 679 of 2016 (the "Privacy Regulation") and of the Legislative Decree June 30, 2003, n. 196, as amended by Legislative Decree, 10 August 2018, n. 101 ("Privacy Code"), the SEMM Foundation - European School of Molecular Medicine intends to inform you and all users and/or visitors of the site www.semm.it (hereinafter referred to as, respectively, the "Users" and the "Site"), regarding the use of personal data, log files and cookies collected through the Site itself.

  1. Data Controller and Data Processors

The Data Controller of personal data is SEMM Foundation - European School of Molecular Medicine (hereinafter, the "Owner" or the "Foundation") based in Milan, Via Adamello n. 16, tax code/VAT number 03448300966, telephone 0257489806, email info[AT]semm.it.

The updated list of designated Data Protection Officers may be provided upon request from Interested Parties and/or Users.

In the event that one or more Data Protection Officers are appointed (pursuant to Article 37 of the Privacy Regulation), their identification data will be disclosed by publication of the same, supplementing this information.

  1. Information collected automatically by the Site - Cookies

a) Information collected automatically

Like all websites, our Website also uses log files in which information is automatically collected and stored during your visits. In fact, the IT systems and software procedures used to operate the Website automatically acquire certain information throughout utilisation, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.

The information collected is the following:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address or the domain name of the device you are using;
  • Type of browser and device parameters used to connect to the Website;
  • The addresses in the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) notation of the requested resources or the method used to submit the request to the server;
  • Name of the Internet Service Provider (ISP);
  • Date and time of the visit;
  • The User's webpage of origin (referral) and of exit;
  • Number of clicks, where applicable;
  • Size of the file obtained in response;
  • The numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (success, error, etc.);;
  • Other parameters relating to the operating system and the IT environment of your device.

This information is processed in an automated manner and collected only in aggregate form in order to verify the correct functioning of the Website.

b) Cookies

The Site utilises cookies. Cookies are text files stored on a computer, which permit the recording of certain parameters and data communicated to the IT system, through the browser used. These tools thus facilitate an analysis of your habits in using the Site for a number of purposes: the execution of IT authentication, monitoring sessions, storage of information on specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, recording preferences, etc.

Cookies are distinguished between:

  1. Technical cookies: used to effectuate navigation or to provide a service requested by you. Without the use of these cookies, certain operations could not be performed or would be more complex and/or less secure.
  2. Profiling cookies: they are used to track your navigation and create profiles on your tastes, habits, choices, etc. In this way, advertising messages can be transmitted to your device in line with preferences already expressed by you when navigating online.

Only technical cookies are used on our Site, for whose installation your consent is not required.

While browsing the Site, you can also receive cookies on your terminal which are sent from different websites or web servers (hereinafter, the "Third Parties"). The Third Parties, which use cookies on our Site, are:

Through the use of the Site, the use of technical Cookies is considered accepted and consent is given to the processing of data collected by the Third Parties.

On certain pages of our site we can insert so-called social plugins, such as, for example, Facebook and Twitter. In particular, the Facebook Insight function (made available by Facebook Ireland Limited), aimed at obtaining anonymous statistical data on the profile of visitors to our fanpage created on Facebook and the related content most visited by these users (in order to offer more and more relevant content and to develop features that may be of interest to our fanpage visitors). These statistical data are collected thanks to cookies installed by Facebook on the device used by the interested party to access our fanpage and remain active for two years if not uninstalled. They allow the use of a unique user code that can be associated with the connection data of the users accessing the fanpage , thus creating access and consultation statistics of our fanpage, which are communicated to us anonymously based on the pre-established settings during the creation of the fanpage to monitor in particular certain information about the consultation of our fanpage that we consider most interesting. In this regard, we point out that your data may be legitimately processed by Facebook Ireland Limited, which acts - together with the Foundation that activated and manages its own fanpage on Facebook - as co-owner of the processing of the statistical data collected through this fanpage.

  1. The personal data you provide to us by using the Site: processing purposes

For the simple navigation on the Site, it is not necessary to register, but, in order to access the so-called "reserved area", as well as to register on the mailing list to get updates on the events organized by the Foundation, the Foundation itself must collect some information about you at the time of your registration. The User must be 18 or older to access the reserved area of the Site. Before the conclusion of the access procedure to the reserved area of the Site and before the conclusion of the registration on the Foundation's mailing list, you will be provided with adequate information.

In any case, the Foundation undertakes to use your personal data only in the ways, terms and for the purposes specified below:

  1. to allow navigation within the Site;
  2. to fulfill legal obligations;
  3. to carry out the technical management of the Site;
  4. to allow registration on the Foundation's mailing list in order to be updated on the various events organized by the Foundation;
  5. to allow access to the so-called "reserved area".

The data you provide will be processed mainly using IT tools under the authority of the Data Controller, by subjects specifically designated and trained in processing, pursuant to art. 29 of the Privacy Regulation and of the art. 2-quaterdecies of the Privacy Code. We inform you that appropriate security measures are observed, also pursuant to Article 5 and 32 of the Privacy Regulation, in order to prevent the loss of data, its illicit or incorrect use and unauthorised access.

  1. Nature of data provision and legal basis for processing

For the purposes referred to in paragraph 3 above, the provision of your personal data also takes place automatically and is necessary in order to browse the Site or, in the case referred to in points (iv) and (v), for the registration, respectively, to the Foundation's mailing list and to allow access to the so-called "reserved area".

Please keep in mind that, in any case and at any time, you can request to have the Data Controller delete your data through a simple communication to be sent, without any particular formalities, to the addresses referred to in the previous paragraph 1.

With reference to the purposes referred to in points (i), (iii), (iv) and (v) of the previous paragraph 3, the legal basis of the processing is the execution of the services provided through the Site and requested by You, pursuant to art. 6, paragraph 1, lett. b) of the Privacy Regulation. Instead, with regard to the purpose referred to in point (ii) of the previous paragraph 3, the legal basis is the fulfillment - by the Foundation - of legal obligations, pursuant to art. 6, paragraph 1, lett. c) of the Privacy Regulation.

  1. To whom and in what context may we transmit your data

Your data may be disclosed in Italy and in any case within the EU, in full compliance with the provisions of the Privacy Regulation and the Privacy Code, to the following subjects:

(i) to public bodies and/or authorities, where this is required by law or at their request;

(ii) to the structures, subjects and external companies of which the Data Controller uses to carry out related activities, instrumental or consequent to the use of the Site and to the possible supply of the services requested therein;

(iii) to external consultants, if not designated in writing as Data processors.

  1. Your rights

At any time you can exercise your rights pursuant to articles 15 et seq. of the Privacy Regulation, for access, rectification, transformation, blocking, cancellation, limitation of processing, in the manner established by art. 12 of the Privacy Regulation and with the limits referred to in art. 2-undecies of the Privacy Code.

  1. Duration of the Processing

Without prejudice to legal obligations, your personal data will be kept for a period of time not exceeding the achievement of the purposes for which they are processed (the so-called "principle of conservation limitation" as per article 5 of the Privacy Regulation). Periodic verification is made of the obsolescence of the data stored in relation to the purposes for which they were collected.

In particular, the personal data necessary for registration on the Foundation's mailing list will be processed in an "OPT-OUT" management model, ie until the interested party exercises the right to unsubscribe from the service.

Instead, for the personal data necessary for registration within the reserved area, a processing duration equal to the cancellation request is provided. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Foundation may retain certain personal data even after the request for cessation of processing and this exclusively to defend or assert its own right or in the cases provided for by law or as a result of the order of a judicial or administrative authority.

  1. Security Measures

Through the Site, your data is processed in compliance with the applicable laws and using appropriate security measures in compliance with the legislation in force also pursuant to Articles 5 and 32 of the Privacy Regulation, aimed at preventing unauthorized access, theft, disclosure, modification or unauthorized destruction of Your data.

  1. Changes to the Privacy Policy

This policy is subject to changes by the Data Controller; the Foundation will inform you of the changes on the Site, with at least 15 days' notice of the date on which the new policy will be applied.

Nel caso in cui venga nominato un Responsabile della Protezione dei Dati (ai sensi dell’art. 37 del Regolamento Privacy), i dati identificativi dello stesso saranno resi noti mediante pubblicazione dei medesimi, integrando la presente informativa.

a) Informazioni raccolte automaticamente

Come tutti i siti web anche il nostro Sito fa uso di log files, nei quali vengono conservate informazioni raccolte in maniera automatizzata durante le Tue visite. Tali informazioni sono trattate in forma automatizzata e raccolte esclusivamente in forma aggregata al fine di verificare il corretto funzionamento del Sito.

Nel Sito vengono utilizzati cookies. I cookies sono file di testo registrati su supporto informatico, che permettono di registrare alcuni parametri e dati comunicati al sistema informatico, attraverso il browser da Te utilizzato.   1. I dati personali che ci fornisci utilizzando il Sito: a che fine li trattiamo

Per la semplice navigazione sul Sito, non è necessario registrarsi, ma, al fine di poter accedere alla c.d. “area riservata”, nonché per registrarsi alla mailing list per poter ottenere aggiornamenti sugli eventi organizzati dalla Fondazione, quest’ultima deve raccogliere alcune informazioni che Ti riguardano al momento della Tua registrazione. Per poter accedere all’area riservata del Sito occorre aver compiuto 18 anni. Prima della conclusione del procedimento di accesso all’area riservata del Sito e prima della conclusione della registrazione all’interno della mailing list della Fondazione, Ti verrà fornita la presente informativa.

In ogni caso, la Fondazione si impegna a utilizzare i Tuoi dati personali unicamente nei modi, termini e per le finalità specificate di seguito:

  1. consentire la navigazione all’interno del Sito;
  2. adempiere agli obblighi di legge;
  3. effettuare la gestione tecnica del Sito;
  4. consentire la registrazione alla mailing list della Fondazione al fine di essere aggiornato sui vari eventi organizzati dalla stessa;
  5. consentire l’accesso alla c.d. “area riservata”.

I dati da Te forniti verranno trattati prevalentemente con strumenti informatici sotto l’autorità del Titolare del trattamento, da parte di soggetti specificamente designati ed istruiti al trattamento, ai sensi dell’art. 29 del Regolamento Privacy e dell’art. 2-quaterdecies del Codice Privacy. Ti informiamo che sono osservate idonee misure di sicurezza anche ai sensi degli artt. 5 e 32 del Regolamento Privacy per prevenire la perdita dei dati, usi illeciti o non corretti ed accessi non autorizzati.

  1. Natura del conferimento dei dati e base giuridica del trattamento

Sappi che per le finalità di cui al precedente paragrafo 3, il conferimento dei Tuoi dati personali avviene anche in automatico ed è necessario per poter effettuare la navigazione del Sito o, nel caso di cui ai punti (iv) e (v), per la registrazione, rispettivamente, alla mailing list della Fondazione e per consentire l’accesso alla c.d. “area riservata”.

RicordaTi che, in ogni caso ed in qualsiasi momento, potrai richiedere al Titolare la cancellazione dei Tuoi dati tramite una semplice comunicazione da inviarsi, senza particolari formalità, ai recapiti di cui al precedente paragrafo 1.

Con riferimento alle finalità di cui ai punti (i), (iii), (iv) e (v) del precedente paragrafo 3, la base giuridica del trattamento è l’esecuzione dei servizi forniti attraverso il Sito e da Te richiesti, ai sensi dell’art. 6, comma 1, lett. b) del Regolamento Privacy. Invece, in merito alla finalità di cui al punto (ii) del precedente paragrafo 3, la base giuridica è l’adempimento – da parte della Fondazione– di obblighi legali, ai sensi dell’art. 6, comma 1, lett. c) del Regolamento Privacy.

  1. A chi e in che ambito possiamo trasmettere i tuoi dati

I Tuoi dati potranno essere comunicati, in Italia e comunque all’interno della UE, nel pieno rispetto di quanto previsto dal Regolamento Privacy e dal Codice Privacy, ai seguenti soggetti:

(i) ad enti e/o autorità pubbliche, ove ciò sia imposto dalla legge o su loro richiesta;

(ii) alle strutture, ai soggetti ed alle società esterne di cui il Titolare si avvale per lo svolgimento di attività connesse, strumentali o conseguenti all’utilizzo del Sito e all’eventuale fornitura dei servizi ivi richiesti;

(iii) ai consulenti esterni, se non designati per iscritto Responsabili del trattamento.

  1. I tuoi diritti

In qualsiasi momento potrai esercitare i diritti di cui agli artt. 15 e segg. del Regolamento Privacy, per l’accesso, la rettifica, la trasformazione, il blocco, la cancellazione, la limitazione del trattamento, nelle modalità stabilite dall’art. 12 del Regolamento Privacy e con i limiti di cui all’art. 2-undecies del Codice Privacy.

  1. Durata del Trattamento

Fatti salvi gli obblighi di legge, i Tuoi dati personali verranno conservati per un arco di tempo non superiore al conseguimento delle finalità per le quali sono trattati (c.d. “principio di limitazione della conservazione” di cui all’art. 5 del Regolamento Privacy). La verifica sulla obsolescenza dei dati conservati in relazione alle finalità per cui sono stati raccolti viene effettuata periodicamente.

In particolare, i dati personali necessari alla iscrizione alla mailing list della Fondazione, verranno trattati in un modello di gestione "OPT-OUT" ovvero fino a quando l'interessato eserciterà il diritto di disiscrizione dal servizio.

Invece, per i dati personali necessari alla registrazione all’interno dell’area riservata, è prevista una durata del trattamento pari alla richiesta di cancellazione dalla medesima. Nonostante quanto precede, la Fondazione potrà conservare taluni Tuoi dati personali esclusivamente per difendere o far valere un proprio diritto ovvero nei casi previsti dalla legge o per effetto dell’ordine di un’autorità giudiziale o amministrativa.

  1. Misure di sicurezza

Attraverso il Sito, i Tuoi dati saranno trattati nel rispetto della legge applicabile ed utilizzando adeguate misure di sicurezza, nel rispetto della normativa in vigore anche ai sensi degli artt. 5 e 32 del Regolamento Privacy, volte ad impedire accessi non autorizzati, furto, divulgazione, modifica o distruzione non autorizzata dei Tuoi dati.

  1. Modifiche all’Informativa privacy

La presente informativa è soggetta a modifiche da parte del Titolare del trattamento; la Fondazione Le comunicherà sul Sito stesso le modifiche, con un preavviso di almeno 15 giorni rispetto alla data in cui si applicherà la nuova informativa.
